WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, president and chief counsel for the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund, Charles LiMandri, appeared on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, a national radio show which airs on more than 240 stations across the country. On the show, LiMandri highlighted the lawsuit, filed by the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund on behalf of six San Diego Unified School District parents, in response to the district’s decision to start incorporating Muslim-themed lessons into classrooms.

Mr. LiMandri explained the complaint filed against the school district, "the new Islamophobia program violates both the federal and state constitution… It is showing a preference of one religion over another religion – a violation of the establishment clause of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.” LiMandri went on to say, “there is no bullying problem. This is just an opportunity for CAIR to help build their expressed mission and purpose, which is to spread Islam and the influence of Muslims in the United States.”

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, the host of Washington Watch, added, "They’re claiming there’s rampant Islamophobia in the schools, but now that you’ve taken them to court, they’re using that as justification for this promotion of Islam." concluded Perkins.
